Lisa Keys

There are lots of reasons I love to grill. First, grilling gives food such a wonderful flavor. Everything from entrees to dessert tastes better on the grill. Second, grilling is a social event that includes sharing good wine and good food with family and friends out on the deck. Finally, clean-up is a breeze when using the grill. You’ll even find me firing up the grill in a snow storm. I cook from my heart and I really wanted to create a recipe that represents who I am and where I am from, in addition, to highlighting one of my favorite Beringer wines. Boston lettuce, molasses and cranberries all represent my New England home while the gorgonzola is a nod to my Italian roots. The simple grilled steak combined with the creamy saltiness of the cheese pairs really well with the spicy fruitiness of the Syrah wine sauce. I am the first woman in my family to graduate from college. I am a Physician Assistant and Director of Health Services of a local school. I also love to grow and forage for my food. This month you will find me digging for clams and searching for wild berries.
