I absolutely love grilling mostly because of the unique social atmosphere it creates with family and friends. My greatest joy in life is cooking for my family. I am the proud mother of three successful children and five wonderful grandchildren whom I love to spoil. I am from snowy upstate NY near the Buffalo area and have lived here my entire life. The changing of the seasons and the ever-changing array of fruits and vegetables which compliment them is what always inspires my cooking.
Filet mignon has a mild flavor and is incomparably tender so it’s the foundation for my recipe. When paired with a majestic, complex wine such as Beringer Founders’ Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, your taste buds experience an explosion. As filet is such a lean steak in comparison to many, infusing it with black truffle butter and oil enhances its richness.
I also love to travel and have wanted to visit California again so I am thrilled to be heading to Napa for the Great Steak Challenge! I owe much of my creativity to my youngest daughter Kristine Gallop who has inspired me to transition from home-style cooking into the wonderful realm of gourmet cooking. Kristine will be cheering for me at the Great Steak Challenge.
